DFS pitchers for May 12

Francisco Liriano

We’re diving into the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) craze and will be bringing you the two pitchers we’re using in Draft Kings with other possibilities as well.

Francisco Liriano: The Pirates lefty has been stellar so far (2.79 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) and gets a juicy matchup at Philadelphia for a reasonable price of $8,900. With a strikeout rate of 10.2 K/9, we believe Liriano to still be one of the more overlooked pitchers in fantasy.

Corey Kluber: The slow start for the Indians ace (0-5, 5.04 ERA) has depressed the price to the point that he’s a bargain for $9,000 at home against the Cardinals. Kluber’s xFIP of 3.16 shows that better days are coming soon and we’re willing to bet he gets his first win today.

Not having a low-priced pitcher today meant we had to find value hitters some we are going with are red-hot Yunel Escobar for $3,800 against Jeremy Hellickson, left-handed Anthony Gose for $3,400 against righty Ricky Nolasco, and Carlos Peguero (4 homers, .822 OPS in 75 plate appearances) for $3,200 against Yordano Ventura.
