DFS pitchers for June 2

New York Mets Spring Training / Florida

We’re diving into the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) craze and will be bringing you the two pitchers we’re using in Draft Kings with other possibilities as well.

Noah Syndergaard: Thor has been nothing short of sensational since his recall three weeks ago, posting a 1.82 ERA with a 22-5 K-BB in 24.2 innings and capping it with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate in his last start that included a towering home run. He’s still pretty affordable at $8,100 for a start at San Diego, making him the ninth-most expensive pitcher today. The matchup is perfect too – a pitcher’s park against a righty-dominated lineup.

Chris Archer: We’re not sure what the Rays ace has to do to be considered among the game’s elite pitchers, because Archer’s just $8,900 for a start at the Angels as he brings in a sparkling 2.12 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 82-20 K-BB in 68 innings. It would cost your $3,100 more to use Max Scherzer against the mighty Blue Jays lineup. Archer must deal with Mike Trout and a red-hot Albert Pujols, but the rest of the Angels lineup leaves much to be desired.

There are lots of good pitcher options today, depending on what kind of contest you’re playing in. If you’re in a 50-50, Scherzer is a good way to go. We like A.J. Burnett at San Francisco for $9,200, but his opponent Chris Heston is a better bargain at just $5,300 and could be used in a Triple-Up contest. If you’re looking for a sleeper to use in a tournament, Clay Buchholz against the Twins for $7,200 and Mike Wright at Houston for $4,800 are our favorites.
