DFS pitchers for April 25

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Baltimore Orioles

We’re diving into the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) craze and will be bringing you the two pitchers we’re using in Draft Kings with other possibilities as well.

James Paxton: The Mariners lefty may be off to a slow start (5.40 ERA), but the matchup against the light-hitting Twins in Seattle at the cheap price of $7,000 is too much to pass up. There are some good signs behind the disappointing ERA, namely a walk rate that has been nearly cut in half from last year to 1.8 BB/9 this season and a 3.81 xFIP. Using Paxton allowed us to spend on right-handed Giants bats in Coors Field against Jorge De La Rosa like Buster Posey for $4,600.

Shelby Miller: The 24-year-old is looking good so far with his new team in Atlanta, going 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA over his first two starts. Miller gets a favorable matchup against the lowly Phillies at a reasonable $7,300, allowing us to load up on stars like Andrew McCutchen and Mike Trout.

We really like Brandon McCarthy, but $8,800 was a bit too steep for what we wanted to do with our bats.
